Frequently asked questions.

Answers to common questions about DTA online driver improvement courses, drawn directly from the course FAQ file.

Q. 01
Is this course approved by the state?
Yes. Our online driver improvement courses are fully approved by the relevant state DMV or court system. Each state-specific page lists the exact approving authority (e.g., the Michigan Secretary of State for the Basic Driver Improvement Course).
Q. 02
Can I change my registration information?
Yes. Click the "My Account" link near the top of every course page in the navigation area. You can change your information at any time up until you pass the last end of unit quiz.
Q. 03
How is my completion reported?
Once you pass the last end of unit quiz, we report your course completion to the state electronically on the next business day (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays). A PDF certificate is available for an additional fee if you want one for your records.
Q. 04
How can I get in touch with a live person?
Call our customer support number: 1-800-558-9887. You can also email support@drivertrainingassociates.com. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Central Time.
Q. 05
Is the course all reading?
No. Unlike many other online driver improvement programs, our course uses video and interactive animations to keep you interested in the material. Most users comment that they are surprised by how user friendly the course is.
Q. 06
I forgot my user name and password. How do I get them back?
Your username is in the email sent to you upon initial registration. If you forget your password, go to the Student Login page and click "Forgot Your Password." Enter the email address you provided during registration and continue. If you still cannot log in, please contact us.
Q. 07
How does the money back guarantee work?
We offer a full 100% money back guarantee to any online customer that requests a refund within sixty (60) days from the date of course registration. Customers who have already passed, been disqualified for personal validation / quiz failures, missed their deadline, or already been reported to the state are not eligible.
Q. 08
How long is the course?
Most students require between five and six hours to complete the course and pass all of the end of unit quizzes. There is no maximum time requirement. You can log in and out as many times as you need, and we keep track of your progress so you never lose any of your work.
Q. 09
Why do I have to answer personal validation questions (PVQ's)?
During registration, you will be required to answer a number of personal validation questions (e.g. "Have you ever been to Europe?"). You will be asked the same questions again at random points in the course. These questions are a security measure used to validate your identity. If you miss four PVQs, you will be disqualified from the course.
Q. 10
What score is required to pass the end of unit quizzes?
You will be required to pass a multiple choice quiz of five questions at the end of each unit. State rule requires a grade of at least 80% to pass (4 of 5 correct). If you do not pass, you may load a new quiz or review the unit material before trying again.
Q. 11
