Get your Illinois driver's license
Illinois law requires first-time driver's license applicants ages 18, 19, or 20 to complete a 6-hour Adult Driver Education course before the Secretary of State will issue a license. Completing this course satisfies that requirement so you can take the written and behind-the-wheel tests at your local Secretary of State facility. The state also recommends 50 hours of supervised behind-the-wheel practice, including at least 10 hours at night, before your road test.
