Florida 8-Hour Intermediate Driver Improvement — FAQs.
- Is this course accepted by Florida courts?
- Yes. This online 8-hour Intermediate Driver Improvement (IDI) course, sometimes referred to an Aggressive Driving course is accepted by Florida courts for a variety of infractions. Typically that is for drivers that have a ticket and have already completed the 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement course, as well as those with aggressive driving charges, or facing license suspensions.
- Who should take the 8-hour traffic school course?
- Anyone who needs a standard 8-hour traffic school course, an 8-hour aggressive driving course, or an 8-hour suspended license course. Courts sometimes refer to standard 8-hour attendance as "Intermediate Driver Improvement" (IDI). Drivers who fulfill an IDI requirement have usually already attended a 4-hour BDI within the past year.
- Can this course be taken for 8-hour aggressive driving or license suspension?
- Yes. Select either of those options when you register.
- Can the course be taken on a mobile device?
- Yes. The course is mobile-friendly and runs on nearly any tablet, smartphone, laptop, or desktop with a modern internet browser (JavaScript and cookies enabled).
- How is my completion reported?
- We DO NOT report completions to the Florida DHSMV or to the courts. It is your responsibility to turn your certificate in to the clerk of the court for the county that ordered your attendance per their instructions and by any deadlines they may have set.
- Do you offer express delivery?
- Yes. You can purchase either instant electronic (PDF) delivery download or overnight shipping during registration or after passing the last unit quiz, or by calling 1-800-558-9887.
- How long is the course?
- The course takes an average student eight hours, but you set the pace — there are no page timers. Log in and out as often as needed; progress is saved.
- Is there a final exam?
- No. Each unit has a short quiz at the end with unlimited attempts. If you read the material, you'll have no trouble passing.
- Is the course all reading?
- No. Our course contains more video, interactive animations, and colorful graphics than most 8-hour courses on the market.
