Florida FAQ

GEICO Florida Insurance Discount Course — FAQs.

How long is the course?
Per Florida DHSMV requirements, the course must be four hours in length. Each page has a timer to ensure that the right amount of time is spent. The course lets you log in and out from any internet-enabled device (smartphone, laptop, etc.) as needed and will automatically save your progress.
What tests do I have to take?
Per state regulations, there is a short multiple-choice quiz at the end of each unit that must be passed. You get unlimited attempts to achieve a passing score (80%) on each unit quiz. We DO NOT have a final exam.
How does the course work?
After registering, you will be given access to the course material. You will proceed through each page of each unit, spending the required time reading text and watching videos. You will have to pass a multiple-choice quiz at the end of each unit. You can log in and out as needed and our system automatically saves your progress. After you pass the last unit quiz and complete the course, we will process a certificate of completion and send it to you via the delivery method chosen. GEICO will also be notified electronically within 24 hours to apply the discount to your policy.
Can I take this course for a ticket?
No. We are a preferred online course provider with GEICO, so the course available on this page is set up for GEICO customers at a reduced price for insurance discount purposes only. If you need the course for a traffic ticket, please use the standard Florida Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) course.
How can I contact you?
We are available from 8AM to 6PM EST Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at 1-800-558-9887. You can also email us at info@ticketschool.com.
What if I am not a GEICO customer?
This page is set up for GEICO customers only at a reduced price. The registration requires a GEICO policy number. If your auto insurance is with a different provider, you will need to go through the standard Florida course registration process for the Basic Driver Improvement course.
How long is the discount good for?
The discount for completing a 4-hour Florida Driver Improvement course is good for three (3) years. You are eligible to complete the course once every three years to continue receiving the discount.
Can my family take the course too?
The course can be taken by any GEICO insured who is the primary driver of a vehicle on a policy and meets the age requirement. Check with GEICO for further eligibility details.
How much money will I save?
Discount amounts vary by state, policy, and GEICO company. Eligibility and the exact savings should be confirmed with GEICO prior to enrolling. Once you complete the course, GEICO will automatically apply the applicable discount to your policy.
