- Will my insurance company actually honor this course?
- Yes. Major U.S. carriers — GEICO, State Farm, Allstate, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, USAA and more — recognize state-approved courses like ours. After you finish, submit the certificate to your insurer and the discount typically applies at your next renewal. Discount size and duration are set by your carrier.
- Will the court / DMV accept an online course?
- Yes. This course is NY DMV Approved. Your completion is filed electronically with the appropriate state agency on the next business day. If your judge or clerk specifically required a classroom course, ask them whether the online option is acceptable in your case — in most jurisdictions it is.
- What if I fail an end-of-chapter quiz?
- NY DMV rules allow three attempts per unit quiz. Fail the same quiz three times and you'll be disqualified and must re-register to start over.
- How fast will the state see my completion?
- We file your completion electronically with the New York DMV within 5 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding holidays) so they can apply any point reduction benefit you may be eligible for.
- Is the GEICO New York Discount course officially approved?
- Yes. TicketSchool is an approved provider — this course meets the NY DMV Approved requirements and is accepted statewide. Completion is reported electronically on the next business day.
- How long does the course take?
- The state-mandated seat time is 6 hours. The course is broken into short chapters with end-of-section checks, and you can log out and resume at any time without losing progress.
